We did it! The Koubachi video is finally real. We spent a lot of time coming up with a funny yet explanatory story. We hope you like it as much as we do.

Version 1.5.1 of the Koubachi App was just released. The issues, we unfortunately faced in version 1.5 are now fixed.

Please de-install the old version and download the new App version, in particular if your use an iPhone 3 / 3G, an iPad or an iPod Touch device. With the de-installation of the previous version, no data migration issues should arise.

On Tuesday, we released version 1.5 of our iPhone App. Unfortunately, Version 1.5 has some bugs and defects that cause major troubles for some users. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope you, as a Koubachi user, accept our sincere apology.

Any new release undergoes a strict testing process before it’s made available for download - unfortunately, we didn’t detect the bug in this process. Many thanks to all of you that have alerted us on the bug and provided constructive feedback.

We are working on fixing the problem and already submitted a new version (1.5.1) to Apple for review and expect its approval within the next days. Version 1.5.1 should fix most of the problems that occur with version 1.5.

The following problems might occur with the new release 1.5:

• The Koubachi iPhone App closes shortly after starting up
• You can not see any of your plants
• The (new, updated) plant library loads only very slow

These problems occur mostly on iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch. The problem occurs as the Koubachi App is downloading new plants while starting. As we significantly stacked up the plant library over the last few days, older iPhones run into a memory problem.

We compiled a short list of instructions that will help you determine what to do to prevent or mitigate these problems (see below).

We really apologize for the inconvenience and again, we thank you all for your feedbacks and comments! If you find any other bugs, please continue to write us. We constantly work to make our system better and rely on your feedbacks!

For the following devices, we advice you to proceed as follows:

I have an iPhone 4, 4S or an iPad:

Do not update your Koubachi iPhone App just yet! Before you update, make sure to register your account (go to settings, then register). This way, your plants will be saved in our system and linked to your username. This will help us fix your plants should you encounter any problems. After registering you may update to version 1.5.
Should you experience app crashes, we advise to delete the app from your device and re-install it afterwards. This usually does the trick. As explained, we have already sent version 1.5.1 to Apple for review. This release should resolve the problems and should be ready for download within the next few days.

I have an iPhone 3, 3G or an iPod Touch:

Do not update your iPhone App! Wait until version 1.5.2 comes out (estimated by the end of May).
If you have already installed version 1.5 on your iPhone (in particular on 3G or 3GS) we recommend you to use the my.koubachi web app in the meantime.

The new version 1.5 of the Koubachi iPhone app is now ready for download in the AppStore !

Thanks to the new care view, you now have a single overview on your plant’s vitality! With the version, you can also seamlessly integrate our newest product, the revolutionary Koubachi Wi-Fi Plant Sensor . With the sensor you are able to monitor your plant’s vitality in real-time and it will provide you with highly accurate data on soil moisture, light intensity and temperature. In addition, we stacked up the plant library: 300 more plants are available - based on your feedback!
